You think finding the right tuxedo was hard? Or maybe you tossed and turned in several sleepless nights trying to decide on which dress to buy? Every decision you’re faced with in your wedding can cause a lot of stress. Add to that all the friendly advice you receive from friends and family who are desperately trying to relive their own wedding and it’s a miracle that more bridal couples don’t keel over before the wedding day. After all, there is the theme of the wedding, colors, flowers, reception site, menu, who to include in your bridal party, who will be your maid of honor or your best man… the list of choices you have to make seems endless.
FINALLY the big day is over and you can start to relax, right? Well, almost. I, as the wedding photographer, need to thrust one more decision-making responsibility onto your newly married, and weary, shoulders: your wedding album. And it’s not a single choice either. We need to decide which pictures will be included, the style of book, the layout, the covers, parent and family books, extra prints and frames and… well, you get the idea.
A small part of me knows I need to apologize to you for blind siding you with this but, on the other hand, your pictures will be lasting for decades and will be the one item you repeatedly pull out and show off for years to come. It needs to be perfect, it needs to be right. If it isn’t, I’ve failed you.
I keep my album prices separate from my shooting fees specifically so that you can make a decision on the album at a separate time. There are a bunch of reasons I do this and they are all aimed at ensuring you get what you want and that we can meet your budget. Maybe a less expensive album and more pictures or less pictures and a more unique album.
Work with your photographer to determine what you want and what he can provide. Not only will this make the process go faster, it will help alleviate the extra stress.
